MINUTES OF 2009 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
Minutes of the AGM of the Whitecastle Lawns Residents Association held on Tuesday 29th September 2009.
Present: Joe Barry, Elaine Dempsey, John Barr, Paddy Holligan, Ann Cardiff, Jim Reilly, Betty Reilly, Tommy Behan, Louie Garry.
Apologies: Mark Dalton, Ger Barr, Frank Dobbyn, Kathleen Brophy, Luke O’Hanlon.
Update on activities in the past year
Thank you to Joe Barry, John Barr and Ann Barry for arranging the “Santa Visit” to all residents on Xmas Eve.
The committee and residents of the estate planted trees in memory of deceased members of Whitecastle Lawns in June 2009.
Thank you to John and Ger Barr for putting the flower tubs around the estate and maintaining them throughout the year.
Estate Maintenance
The trees along the wall on the main green were recently cut by the local Council. Thank you to all relevant committee members for arranging this.
A health & Safety Report was completed and the fence near the entrance of the estate has been replaced by the local Council. Again, thank you to all relevant committee members for arranging this.
The cost for maintaining the estate (i.e. cutting the grass etc.) for 2009 is €1,800. It was agreed by the Committee that the annual subscription per household is €50. If you have not paid your fee for this year please submit same to either of Chairperson/Treasurer/Secretary.
The overgrown area at the corner of the main green is being cleaned up and the area will be cleared away.
Ann Cardiff presented a statement of accounts for the year, details are available on request from the Committee.
Election of Committee for 2009/2010
The following people were elected onto the Committee for this year: Chairperson: Frank Dobbyn Treasurer: Geraldine Barr Assistant Treasurer: Ann Cardiff Secretary: Trina O’Rourke
Committee Members: Paddy Holligan, Elaine Dempsey, Joe Barry, John Barr, Jim Reilly, Betty Reilly, Louie Garry, Mark Dalton, Luke Hanlon.
Any other Business
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THERE WILL BE NO BONFIRE AT HALLOWEEN.
It was raised at the meeting that the maintenance of house numbers 46 to 76 were not “taken” over by Athy Council. This is an issue which will be discussed with the new Committee over the coming weeks.
At the next Committee meeting, dates will be arranged over the coming months for the clean up of the estate.
Again, there was a very poor turnout at the AGM.
We would appreciate it if all residents and children participate in the scheduled clean ups of the estate over the coming months as this will benefit every household.
The incoming Committee would like to give a big thank you to both Joe Barry and Ann Cardiff for their invaluable contribution and time to the estate over the past few years, it is very much appreciated.
Yours Sincerely
